Markets are one of the best places to experience the culture of a city. They’re where you’ll find its makers, growers and characters all in one place - trading fresh produce, handcrafted wares and everything in between.
Perth may be one of the world’s most isolated capitals, but you wouldn’t know it from its market scene. From a heritage market hall that’s been trading since the 1800s to twilight food trucks, sunset beach stalls and Sunday-morning farmers markets, there’s a reason to wander every weekend of the year.
So grab your reusable bags and a keep cup - here’s our pick of 15 of the best markets Perth has to offer.

When: Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday public holidays - The Yard from 8am, The Hall from 9am, both until 6pm
Perth locals never tire of the Freo Markets. Step through the grand stone arches and you’re straight into the heritage, colour and gentle chaos that makes Fremantle Markets a slice of local magic. First opened in 1897, with the foundation stone laid by Sir John Forrest, it’s one of only two surviving municipal market buildings in WA still doing its original job.

With more than 150 stalls, you’ll find handmade jewellery, quirky local art, vintage fashion, homewares and one-of-a-kind gifts. The Yard is the place for fresh produce, free samples, artisan bread and farm-fresh veg, alongside some of Perth’s best street food - think crepes, cannoli, bratwurst, souvlaki, gozleme, bao and bagels. Buskers and street musicians drift through the arches, and Indigenous art tells its own stories around every corner.
Top tip: Visit The Yard first from 8am for the best produce, then explore The Hall once it opens at 9am. Arrive early on weekends for easier parking and a more relaxed wander.

When: Saturdays, 3pm–8pm, mid-June to late October
Perth’s cosiest winter market turns Scarborough Beach into a warm, glowing village every Saturday evening. Expect around 50 rotating food and retail stalls, crackling fire pits, live music and one of the best sunset views in the city. Warm up with pillowy gnocchi, birria tacos, dumplings, apple crumble and mulled wine before grabbing a spot by the fire to toast marshmallows.
It’s a great pick for a relaxed date night, a catch-up with friends or a family outing - dogs are welcome on a leash (though not on the beach itself).
Top tip: Beachside parking fills fast, so try the White Sands Hotel carpark on West Coast Highway (1 hour free, then $6 until midnight) or catch the free CAT bus from Stirling Station.

When: Saturdays, 5pm–9pm, 12 September 2026 to 8 May 2027 (excluding 24 October)
Subi Night Market brings a taste of a European summer village to Subiaco, complete with candlelit tables, cane lounges and a church steeple lit up in the distance. More than 40 food trucks serve everything from spätzle and gnocchi to éclairs, dumplings, tacos, crepes and gelato, while the Spirit of Little Things gin bar mixes botanical cocktails as the sun goes down.

Beyond the food, wander artisan stalls of local fashion and homewares, catch surprise jazz, cabaret or street performances, or join a dance class under the rotunda. Free weekend parking and the nearby Subiaco train station make it an easy night out.

When: 8am-1pm, 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month, 24 October 2026 to 20 March 2027
What began in 2016 as a small social enterprise supporting local makers has grown into Perth’s most awarded coastal lifestyle market, drawing more than 10,000 visitors a season. Set right by Trigg Beach, expect artisan stalls, live music, food trucks, kids’ nature workshops, beach clean-ups and free wellness classes - including ocean dips, meditation, yoga and pilates from 6am.

As Australia’s first single-use-plastic-free and zero-waste market, Summer x Salt is all about conscious creatives and ocean sustainability, so bring a reusable cup or borrow one from the mug library.
Top tip: Park at South Trigg Car Park (a five-minute walk) and arrive early - it gets busy. Dogs are welcome on-leash, and the Kids Nature Club Workshop runs 9am-11am.

When: Saturday Clearance Market 6am–10am; Sunday Community Market 7am–1pm; Winter Night Markets Saturdays in August, 5pm–9pm
During the week, Perth Markets is WA’s only wholesale fresh produce trading hub for restaurants and supermarkets - but on Saturday mornings, the Clearance Market opens to the public, so you can shop at wholesale prices. You’ll usually find a few fruit and veg sellers alongside West Coast Meats and the Fish Market. Vehicle access is via the Gatehouse off Bannister Road and there’s an entry fee of $5 cash only. Arrive early if you can as the best produce goes fast!
On Sundays, the same site becomes the Sunday Community Market, a long-running weekend tradition and home to the largest range of stallholders south of the river. It’s a proper world-of-flavours affair, with Perth’s best street food alongside fresh produce, baked goods, plants and flowers, artisan shopping, coffee, homewares, crafts, bric-a-brac, live music, entertainment and kids’ activities - genuinely something for every age. Entry is $2.50 per adult, $1 concession, and free for kids under 12.
Come winter, the site transforms again for the Winter Night Markets, Perth’s only undercover night market and the largest array of street food south of the river. As the sun sets across Saturday nights in August, Canning Vale lights up with flavours from around the world, live entertainment, kids’ activities and unique local specialty shopping - come for dinner and stay for the whole experience. It runs 5pm–9pm each Saturday in August, with free entry via the Weekend Market entrance.
Top tip: Bring cash for the Saturday Clearance Market, and grab an egg-and-bacon roll from the Fish Market on your way out.

When: Fridays, 4.30pm–9.30pm (seasonal)
Perth’s biggest street food event kicks the weekend off in style. More than 30 food trucks fill Forrest Place with global flavours - Polish pierogi, wood-fired pizza, Greek souvlaki, Asian stir-fries, Brazilian barbecue, Middle Eastern wraps and Aussie classics - all under twinkling lights with live music.
Held during the warmer months (usually October to April), the balmy atmosphere and the festive vibe make it a great excuse for an after-work dinner or a family night out in the city.
Top tip: The City of Perth offers free parking from 6pm on weeknights, so you can spend less time circling for a spot.

When: Saturdays 7.30am-11.30am (Dec–Mar) | 8am-12pm (Apr–Nov)
Where else can your weekend market come with roaming chickens and yoga by donation? Perth City Farm has been a hub of sustainability and community in the heart of town for almost three decades. Its Saturday farmers market focuses on organic, biodynamic and spray-free WA produce, supporting small local growers with minimal packaging and eco-friendly goods — think seasonal fruit and veg, organic dairy, wild-caught WA seafood, bulk pantry staples, honey and plant seedlings.
Beyond the stalls, wander the working farm grounds, play a game of chess, join a workshop on sourdough or fermenting, and refuel at the on-site Be Free café and bakery.
When: Saturdays, 8am–11.30am
A firm favourite for North Perth, Coolbinia, Mount Hawthorn and Leederville communities, Kyilla is a compact, family-friendly farmers market with stalls ringing the park and live music setting the tone. It has a strong focus on fresh, local produce - think farm-direct seasonal fruit and veg, quality meat, fresh bread, honey, nuts, flowers and homemade jams and chutneys, with many stallholders back week after week.
Families are especially well looked after: a shaded kids’ zone (run by volunteers as a fundraiser for Kyilla Primary School) has play mats, wooden blocks, craft activities and often a face painter, and it sits right alongside the Kyilla Park Playground with climbing ropes, slides and a fort. Grab a coffee or juice, build yourself a picnic-style breakfast from the food stalls - bacon-and-egg rolls, breakfast wraps, Turkish and Asian bites - and settle in under the trees while a local musician plays and the kids run off some energy. You’ll often find community groups like the Beaufort Street Community Centre set up too, making it as much a neighbourhood meeting place as a market.
When: Usually monthly on Sundays, 9.30am–3.30pm - check their website for the latest dates
Perth Makers Market is an exclusively handmade market south of the Swan, held in the idyllic surrounds of the Heathcote Cultural Precinct in partnership with the City of Melville. Every item is designed and handcrafted locally in WA by the stallholder themselves - the only exception being the non-profit stalls that attend to raise awareness and funds for their causes. With over 180 stalls, expect bespoke jewellery, homewares and original artwork, plus live music, giant garden games, artist open studios, a gallery to explore and a pirate ship playground for the kids.
Top tip: Goolugatup Heathcote is a dog-free zone, so leave your furry friends at home. While you’re there, grab lunch at the Bluewater Grill or take a look through the on-site gallery.
Subiaco Farmers Market
Subiaco Primary School, 271 Bagot Road, Subiaco
When: Saturdays, 8am–12pm
One of WA’s oldest and original farmers markets, running since 2009, Subi Farmers Market is an independent not-for-profit that supports ethical, sustainable local growers and channels its proceeds straight back to Subiaco Primary School. The food line-up is a big drawcard - think Greek dishes, Spanish tapas, Moroccan shakshuka, gourmet crumpets, bratwurst and banh mi, all at reasonable prices - alongside fresh fruit and veg, eggs, meat, seafood, cheese and honey bought direct from the people who produce it.
Beyond the food, you’ll find handmade gifts, natural massage and essential oils, homewares, indoor plants and gourmet tea, plus live music and a big open field for the kids to play in while you shop.
When: Saturdays, 7.15am-12.15pm, year-round (weather permitting)
Overflowing with all things local - organic and biodynamic fruit and veg, local meat and seafood, eggs, flowers, small goods and artisan products - this market had a revamp in 2025 and has been going from strength to strength ever since. With more than 80 stalls, it’s a go-to for farm-direct produce and delicious takeaway, whether that’s fresh coffee, sizzling bratwurst or French pastries.
There’s live local music every Saturday, a Containers for Change recycling point, and dogs are welcome to join the family for the morning.
When: Sundays, 8am-12pm
Combine a Perth Hills day trip with your weekly grocery shop at this popular hills market. Meet local growers and producers directly, with fresh organic fruit and veg alongside old-school treats like homemade cakes, biscuits, pies and jams, plus more modern finds such as gluten-free slice, raw juice and fermented sourdough. It’s also a great spot to bag a bargain on potted plants.
When: Sundays, 7.30am-11.30am
A genuine producer-to-consumer market and project of the Rotary Club of Karrinyup, Stirling Farmers Market only sells local products direct from the grower or maker - no middlemen. It’s a reliable weekly spot for fresh fruit and veg, honey, bread, meat and seasonal produce, with a coffee van and hot food on-site, plus a free stall each week for a not-for-profit or community group to promote their cause. All funds raised from running the market go straight back into the community, and it operates rain or shine.
When: Sundays, 8am-12pm, rain or shine
Run by the Rotary Club of Victoria Park and supported by the Town of Victoria Park, this neighbourhood favourite serves up fresh produce, coffee, breakfast foods and handmade goods from stallholders across Perth. Live musical entertainment plays every week, and there’s face painting for the kids courtesy of Freedom Fairies (weather permitting). The park itself has a large grassed area, playground, toilets and a half basketball court, right next to the Leisurelife Centre and Victoria Park Carlisle Bowling Club.
Top tip: Free parking is available at the bowls club or the nearby shopping centre.
When: One Friday evening a month, September to April, 5.30pm–8pm - check their socials for the exact date
A community event run by Future Bayswater and supported by Community Bank Bayswater and the City of Bayswater, this monthly twilight market lights up Bert Wright Park with food trucks, unique market stalls and live music. It’s a relaxed, free evening built for picnic blankets and celebrating everything that makes Bayswater special, with free kids’ activities like face painting and henna keeping the little ones entertained.
